On Grammaticalization of "That what"

文章对"那什么"共时系统中的各种用法进行了描写分析,并从历时角度进一步探讨其语法化过程:结构上由"那‘什么np’"到"那什么"单用;语义上由有所指到虚化为一个语用标记。"重新分析"和"主观语用推理"是其语法化机制;"那什么"的特殊含义与句法位置为其语法化创造了条件。

This paper is mainly attempting to describe and analyze various kinds of usage of ＂that what＂ in the synchronic system, and explore the grammatical process further from the diachronic angle：why is ＂that ＂on what ＋ np＂ gradually becoming ＂that what＂ in the structure？ And why is it gradually becoming a pragmatic mark in semantics？ ＂Re-analysis＂ and ＂subjective pragmatic reasoning＂ are the grammatical mechanism of ＂that what＂. Special meaning and syntactic position have created the condition for the grammaticalization.
