Brief Discussion on Standard of New Passive Optical Network

分析并对比了现存的EPON和GPON,以及下一代10 G-EPON和XG-PON在物理层的标准和共存的原因,指出了由于需要下一代网络对于现有网络的兼容性导致的成本问题和对于器件的要求。

In this paper, the author analyzed and compared EPON and GPON, the reasons of new generation 10 G-EPON and XG-PON. Then, the author put forward cost problems and needs of devices.
