德国史学界提出的信仰告白化理论不仅是研究欧洲近代早期社会的重要理论范式和解释德国近现代历史的一种诠释模式,而且是西方史学界宗教改革研究的新理论。它运用文化史和社会史的研究方法来探讨欧洲近代早期社会宗教与政治、社会和文化的关系。该理论作为德国史学发展的产物,其社会史和文化史研究方法的结合在某种程度上体现了20世纪末德国史学发展的新趋向。因此,探讨信仰告白化理论有助于进一步认识德国史学的新发展和新特点。

The confessionalization thesis which German historians established is not only the important paradigm to research the early modern society in Europe and a kind of annotation pattern to explain the modern history of Germany,but also a new theory in recent western religious reformation studies.It discusses the relationship between religion and politics,society and culture by using the research methods of cultural history and social history.As a product of the development of German historiography,the thesis,which combines the research methods of social history and cultural history together, to some extent,represents the new trends of the development of German historiography in late 20th century.Thus,the discussion of the confessionalization thesis contributes to further understanding of the new development and feature of German historiography.
