Based on the scientific and realistic concept, Professor Xiao - zhong Lu edited Outline of Development of Modern Higher Education ,which builds up the theoretical system of the development of modem higher education and takes the lead in proposing the unique methodology of developing education research. Professor LU＇s book places individual case study into analysis framework of Functional Structuralism, opens up the new perspective of the research of higher education development, and finally achieves the qualitative leap of educational research paradigm from speculation to comprehension through illustration.
