“仁且智”与“由仁义行”:孔孟理想人格考论

Debating on ideal personality between Confucius and Mencius by "Renqiezhi "and "Yourenyixing"

传统文化往往笼统地以孔孟为一体,然而细究一下可知,孔子的理想人格是"仁且智",其理想人物应是周公;孟子的理想人格是"由仁义行",其最理想的人物应是舜。在理想人物从周孔到孔孟的转承中,孔孟理想人格呈现出推陈出新、互有交融的面貌。

The ideal personality of Confucius is Renqiezhi （ kindness and intelligence）, and his dream- boat is Zhougong, while the ideal personality is Yourenyixing （ doing under renyi）, and his dreamboat is Shun. On the dreamboat changing from Zhoukong to Kongmeng, we can see the ideal personalities of Confucius and Mencius changing and melting.
