Sepsis is one of the most stressful conditions for humans. During sepsis, the hypothalamic pituitary axis is activated to express abnormal hormones response in an inflammatory environment. The secondary multiple organ failure syndrome after septic shock could be a consequence of severe and multiple hormonal failures. This article summarized the current knowledge on the sepsis - induced hypopituitafism.
