信息技术课程价值研究是信息技术课程理论研究的逻辑起点。在价值哲学视野下，信息技术课程价值体系分为三个层级：个体内在价值、个体工具价值以及社会价值。个体内在价值包括信息技术知识与操作、信息处理的方法与技能、能力培养、社会责任以及情感与态度等；个体工具价值包括生存的价值、发展的价值、享受的价值等；社会价值包括实现信息公平、构建信息文化。
