中国早在周代就建立了规模庞大的服饰制度,奠定了后世服饰礼仪的基本框架和构形。后经过秦、汉、唐等各个历史时期,形成了中国传统国服文化完整、自足的价值体系。传统国服文化将社会的整体价值观凝结于服饰的礼仪、制度、形式,确立了一系列具体的表达形式和操作原则,高度地仪式化、秩序化,形成了一致地对于国家、集体的价值认同形式,使人们在履行这种服饰礼仪的过程中体会到对自身文化的深刻认同和自主确信的自我形象,从而达成对自身生活世界的持续观照和表达,这正是当代国服文化建设的首要的精神目标。

Chinese dress system was early established in the Zhou Dynasty,it set up the fundamental framework and conformation of dress ritual later ages.Since the Qin,Han,Tang dynasties,etc.it has formed a complete self-contained value system of Chinese traditional national dress culture.Chinese traditional national dress culture concentrated on the social complete values of the etiquettes,systems,styles of clothing,established a series of specific representational forms and operations.Accordingly,it conformably formed the value self-identity forms,made people experienced profound cultural self-identity and assuring self-image,thus,reached consciousness and expressions steadily to self life world.This is exactly the primary spirit objective of contemporary national dress culture construction.
