Car Travel: Cross-Cultural Writing in Yu Dafu's Travel Prose

郁达夫的游记散文《过富春江》和《国道飞车记》是两篇较为特殊的文学文本。它们呈现了20世纪30年代的中国现代旅行者乘坐汽车展开旅行的体验,并记录了中西旅行者对不同文化的认识、比较与认同。同时,我们对这两篇具有跨文化文本特征的游记的解读,也可揭示中国现代游记文学与现代性的关联。

Travel by Fuchun Jiang and Car Flying on National Highway are two special literary texts in Yu Dafu＇ s travel proses. They depict modem Chinese travelers＇ car travel experience in the 1930s and record the cultural cognition, comparison and identity in different cultures between Chinese and westerners. Thus, interpretation to these cross-cultural texts will reveal the relationship between modem Chinese travel literature and modernity.
