The World Beneath, first published in the year 2009, is the first novel by Cate Kennedy, often cited as Australia＇ s queen of the short story. The novel depicts an ordinary family story, reflecting the frustrations and annoyanee faced by mid-aged fe- males in contemporary Australia. As a new female writer, Care Kennedy starts from ordinary daily life and explores women＇ real de- mand in the post-feminist era. In this way, she attempted to bring the feminist movement from fantasy to reality. This article first introduees the theme of the novel, and then analyzes three protagonists＇ inner world from their perspectives.
