路径意象图式视域下空间介词above的的认知语义网络

A Cognitive Semantic Network of Spatial Preposition above from the Perspective of Path Image Schema

语言的变迁和一词多义现象的成因都离不开隐喻。空间隐喻已被广泛用于探究空间介词通过隐喻引申的多义现象。而意象图式恰恰是认知语言学家分析方位介词行之有效的工具。本文探究空间介词above的中心意义如何通过路径意象图式及其变体衍生出其隐喻语义网络,以期对英语词汇教学有所启示。

Language change and polysemy are closely linked with metaphor.Spatial metaphor,as a kind of image schemas,has been widely applied to exploring polysemy of spatial preposition by metaphorical extension.And the image schema is an effective tool to analyze them.This paper is intended to analyze the proposition ＂above＂ by means of path image schema,giving a tentative discussion on its prototypical schema and dynamic variations.Besides,how the central meaning of ＂above＂ extends its semantic network of metaphor will be further presented,with the purpose of providing some foundation for English preposition teaching.
