Social Life of Famous Calligraphers and Painters of Shanghai (1937-1966)

从1937年到1966年,中国社会急速变动,上海书画名家的社会生活随之变化。在1937年至1945年间,上海书画名家有的去了北平,有的去了重庆,留下来的因上海畸形繁荣,其卖字鬻画、结社雅集的生活方式基本得到延续。1949年以后,因社会性质变化,书画市场不同于以前,书画名家社会生活变化很大,部分书画家吸鸦片的嗜好被强制戒绝,有些书画家在反右运动中被打成右派。

Life of famous calligraphers and painters of Shanghai underwent a lot of changes with the rapid changes of Chinese society from 1937 to 1966.From 1937 to 1945,many of the calligraphers and painters went to Beiping or Chongqing,while those who stayed in Shanghai kept their life style of selling their art works and associating and assembling due to the deformed prosperity of Shanghai.After 1949,the calligraphy and painting market was no longer the same as before,some of the calligraphers and painters were forced to quit opium,while some were branded as rightists in the Anti-Rightist Movement.
