摘要胰岛素疗效奇佳，以至于就像绝大多数其他疗效很好的药物一样，当医生遇到一个血糖高的患儿时，总会倾向于选择胰岛素。这是因为我们预先假定儿童高血糖症通常意味着1型糖尿病，而忽视了还存在着很多其他形式不需要胰岛素治疗的糖尿病，例如：单基因突变糖尿病、线粒体基因突变糖尿病、青少年2型糖尿病。
