“友谊奖”是中国政府为在经济建设和社会发展中做出突出贡献的外国专家设立的。本年度获奖的50名外国专家来自21个国家，涉及工农业、能源环保、教育科技、医疗卫生、文化体育等领域。
On September 29th, 50 Foreign Experts received the Friendship Award at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. A total of 1199 foreign experts from 62 countries have been granted the Friendship Award by the Chinese government since the award was conceived in 1991. Jeffrey S. Lehman, Chancellor of the School of Transnational Law, Peking University, said, 'it is something even more meaningful, compared to the Legion of Honor in France, the Order of Merit in Germany and honorary knight- hood in the UK' at the Friendship Awards Ceremony.
