In A Journey to the West,one of the four ancient Chinese classical works,the novelist Wu Cheng＇en creates three types of women with distinctive characteristics,which contribute to the originality and enchanting charm of the novel.Analyzing the female gods,goblins and humans therein,this paper intends to find a new way to understand and appreciate the beauty of women figures and discover the spirit of that age.
