The situation of lightning accident disaster was summarized,and the root causes of frequent lightning accidents in rural areas were analyzed, including farmers poor lightning scientific knowledge, lag sense of lightning protection facilities, delay of lighting implementation, imperfect management of lightning protection and the blocked release of lightning warning information.Measures to reduce lightning accidents in rural areas were proposed：promoting lightning protection awareness, innovation management model, speeding up warning information dissemination and strengthening lightning responsibility to implement, etc., which had a good guidence to reduce lightning disaster in rural.
