China joined the WTO to become its 143rd member state on November 10, 2001 after eight years of negotiations. A seminar titled the Future of China and WTO was held in Beijing on the tenth anniversary of China＇s accession to the WTO. It was attended by a good number of government officials who have participated in the WTO negotiations, foreign ambassadors to China, and distinguished scholars and experts from the world.
