The evolution and popularity of ＂XX Case＂ reveals the principle of linguistic economy, the high -fidelity, longevity, prolifi- cacy and diversity of the powerful linguistic memes, which finds expression in the Chinese mass media＇ s popular use of ＂XX Case＂ copied from the ＂Watergate Case＂. Linguistic memetics adds more contents to human language, whose diversity deserves more studies.
