This paper analyzes the generation of GIS partial discharge, introduces several methods for the detection of GIS partial discharge, emphatically discusses UHF （ultra high frequency） detection of GIS and planar equiangular spiral antenna, and probes into how to make the field test by using UHF partial discharge sensor.
