摘要
邓晓芒涉及中西哲学及文化比较方面的著述甚多,尽管不少观点富于创新性和挑战性,但也同时流露出许多偏颇和自相矛盾之处。这主要表现在他对西方逻辑理性的过于推崇,对宗教和自由的狭隘的理解,对中国传统文化与西方文化较量的前景的错误估计,从而导致对中国式直觉悟性思维的轻视,对中国人形而上学信心的困惑和不满,以及对中国人的实践和实用观的贬低。中国人的确没有西方基督教那样对上帝彼岸式的宗教信仰,但这并不等于说中国人就没有"信仰"。中国人深邃的直觉悟性使他们对世界的本源、人与世界的关系等形而上学问题怀有一种近乎先天本能式的信心,因而也就无需再创造一个外在的上帝来作为自己的精神寄托了。因此,"形而上学的信心"就成为中国人"信仰"的代名词,与西方人以及邓晓芒"形而上学的迷惑"形成了鲜明的对照。
Deng Xiaomang has written many books and articles on the comparison of Chinese and Western philosophy and culture including "Neo-criticism", "Thinking in Tension", "New Criticism of Confucianism", "Fourteen Lectures on the Methodology of History of Philosophy" and other articles on his personal webpage titled "Xiaomang Academia". Deng Xiaomang' s thinking is systematic covering nearly all aspects of philosophy and expressing sharp views on metaphysics, ethics, freedom, epistemology, reflection, faith, pragmatism, language and so on. Although Deng Xiaomang' s thoughts are innovative and challenging, they are also tainted with biases and contradictions.
