With the continuously development of computer technology,the application of digital elevation model（DEM）is wider and wider,which plays important role in surveying and mapping fields,and has broad application prospects and potentials.This paper discussed the production methods of DEM,the noticed items in the DEM production,and the error sources of DEM original data collection.
