Maxillary canine impaction is a common phenomenon that orthodontics meet.The management of the impacted canines often includes surgical exposure and complicated orthodontic treatment.The prediction of maxillary canine impaction could be based on the abnormal mesiodistal location of cuspid on radiographs.Interceptive procedures usually include extraction of the primary canines alone or in association with the use of a cervical-pull headgear,and rapid maxillary expansion.This is a review about the diagnosis and prevention of impacted maxillary canines.
