Obama's Libyan intervention has triggered a mixed reaction in its own backyard. The supporters speak highly of this'new intervention model'and believe that the efforts of pursuing cooperation and cost-controlling in this case could even act as a model for future international interventions. The criticizers think that new intervention is over-dependent on multilateral cooperation.'Leading from the back'demonstrate America's weakening willingness in international interventions which will impede America's leading role and influence. To fully recognize this new intervention strategy and if, or at what extent,it will represent the future trend of America's foreign policy,we need to get a fully understanding of its domestic policy environment, including debates on the'new intervention model'and basic differences behind, the influences of election politics, the changes of public opinions.
