中阿友好城市发展的现状及前景分析

On the Development and Prospect of Sino-Arabian Sister Cities

友好城市是各国城市与地方政府对外关系的重要平台和对外交流合作的重要渠道,也是城市外交和地方外交的重要形式。中外友好城市建立的基本原则包括五个方面,其发展阶段自1973年以来历经三个阶段。迄今为止,中国与阿拉伯国家友好城市的发展量少速慢、分布不均、虚多实少,主要有交通、局势、国情、政绩和语言等方面的原因,但中阿友城发展前景广阔。中国应采取一些具体措施推进中阿友城工作的开展,以促进中阿友谊和友好城市发展。

Sister cities are local governments＇ important platforms for foreign relations and key channels for communication and cooperation among cities in different countries, and it is also a kind of main form of city diplomacy and local governmental diplomacy. The basic construction principles of Sino-Arabian sister cities include five aspects, and it experienced three phrases since 1973. Now, the development of Sino-Arabian sister cities are characterized by small in number and poor in content, slow in speed and uneven in distribution, which due to the reasons of communication, situation, current conditions, political achievements and barriers. In all, there are till broad prospects of development for Sino-Arabian sister cities. Chinese government should give impetus to the work of sister cities with special measures so as to promote Sino-Arabian friendship better.
