The Military Significance of American Civil War:Study from War History Perspective

本文从整个人类战争史演进过程的角度考察美国内战这一个案,以期对美国内战在宏观的战争史中的地位进行定位。美国内战发生的背景是世界一体化进入新阶段的前期,工业革命的影响正在军事领域显示出来,军事理论和军事观念也正发生着巨大变化,而内战中的种种军事革命正反映了这些变化。通过分析这些变化,对美国内战的军事意义进行评价,从而把内战定义为历史上第一场现代意义的战争。

This paper tries to study the American Civil War from the insight of the progress of whole human’s war history, in order to giving the civil war an Accurate position in the war history. The background of American Civil War was the earlier time that world integration coming a new period, the influence of Industrial Revolution was appearing in the military field, the military theory and military idea was changing greatly. All kinds of military revolutions in the American Civil War reflected these changes exactly. By study these changes, we can give an appraisal for the American Civil War, thus we can regard the American Civil War as the first modern age war in the war history.
