A Review of Western Scholars on the Censorship of Early Modern England

近代早期英国社会转型中的书报审查制度一直是西方学者关注的研究课题。自18世纪以来,西方学者对近代早期英国书报审查的研究形成了辉格派、修正派、后修正派三个主要派别,本文试从各派的学术观点、主要分歧及总体研究特征等几个方面对西方学者的研究作一简单梳理。

The study of the censorship in the social transformation of the early modern England has long been the topic which western scholars paid attention to. Since the 18th century, there has been three schools: the Whigs, the Revisionists, and the Post-revisionists. This thesis is a review of their different viewpionts, main divergence, and the characteristics of their study.
