Reflections on the Evaluation of the National Undergraduate Programs and the English Programs

本文首先介绍了本科教学评估和英语专业教学评估的背景及两个评估指标体系对英语教学的要求。在分析了两个评估中发现的有关英语教学中的主要问题后,文章肯定了评估的意义,并对上述两个评估体系以及如何进一步提高英语教学质量提出自己的看法和建议。

This article first begins with some brief background information about the evaluation of undergraduate programs and of English Programs in particular respectively. Both of the two evaluation schemes are discussed in the light of their connection with English language teaching. Based on the presentation of the major problems as revealed in the two evaluations, a further reflection of the evaluation schemes per seare also ventured together with suggested solutions to the problems in the current English language teaching.
