The Teaching of Difficult English Verbs

摘要 本文首先根据语言学、语言认知、错误分析和已报道的研究结果讨论难点词的范围,从而确定动词多义词中难点动词,接着探讨多义词的特性,并报告了针对动词多义词的"问题动词"而实施的"难点动词专项讲练活动"和"潜在意义教学技巧"的具体教学方法和效果。 This paper, first, discusses the scope of difficult words and decides polysemous verbs are more difficult and should be the focus ofteaching. Next, 'problem verbs' are classified and the causes for their difficulty are analyzed. And the nature and different kinds of meanings of polysemy are explored. The last part reports the teaching project of 'activities for difficult verbs' and the application of 'underlying meaning technique' in some classes. The feedback from students shows their positive reaction to this teaching method.
