提起钱锺书,人们首先想到的也许是"狂"、"傲"或者"敬畏"之类,然而从他人对钱先生之译事之回忆中,我们看到的分明是一位鼓励嘉勉、溢美褒奖、求实谦逊、助人亲和的钱老。
Arrogance and inapproachability seem to be characteristic of Qian Zhongshu. Recollections of Qian Zhongshu reveal that he has got some hard-to-get traits , to name a few, generating encouragement or giving advice to others and young people in particular, speaking highly of others' versions, being honest and modest, being ready and in a position to help others.
