Feminine Testimonial Conferred by the Emperor to Honor the Deceased was a basic measure to regulate the social order in the traditional society of China. Through centual and local government and by all kinds of means, the Song Dynasty commended women who showed great filial piety, chastity or had great contributions to local people or nation. This measure not only could give guidance to the female groups but also could encourage and admonish the intellectuals in order to form a social environment of loyalty, filial piety, chastity and justice. In addition, it had positive influence on social customs, ethics and government of nation.
