从意译到“硬译”——转型时期鲁迅对中国新文化建构的探索

From Free Translation to Rigid Translation——Lu Xun’s Exploration on New Culture Construction during China’s Transitional Period

翻译是鲁迅文学生涯的重要组成部分,其翻译活动分为三个不同的阶段,其翻译策略也由意译嬗变为"硬译"。鲁迅的"硬译"隐含了深刻的社会政治文化背景。鲁迅的"硬译"不仅仅是一种以强调"信"为目的的翻译策略的选择,更是一种文化价值观的认定,其最终目的是解剖中国传统文化,进而建构适应民族生存与发展的新文化。鲁迅的"硬译"对中国文化的转型具有重要的历史意义。

Translation was part of Lu Xun’s literary career. His translation activity can be divided into three different phases and his translation strategy changed from free translation to rigid translation. Lu Xun’s rigid translation strategy embodied profound social, political and cultural background. His rigid translation was more than just a choice in the translating strategies which stressed on the "faithfulness", it was a cultural value with the final objective of analyzing traditional Chinese culture and further reconstructing a kind of new culture adaptable to the national existence and development. Lu Xun’s rigid translation theory had an important historical meaning towards the transformation of Chinese culture.
