支格阿鲁文化为古代彝族文化,其宗教类型是原始宗教类,而彝族原始宗教主要由自然崇拜与图腾崇拜、万物有灵观、祖先神灵及鬼怪信仰、毕摩文化、苏尼文化等构成。支格阿鲁文化也成了毕摩文化的一个重要组成部分,在毕摩经书里有以支格阿鲁神灵来对付妖魔鬼怪的内容,毕摩们借助支格阿鲁之神的威力来镇鬼怪,驱鬼除魔,以求人类健康安宁,兴旺发达。

Zhi-ge A-lu Culture is a kind of ancient Yi people's culture and its primitive religion includes nature worship,animism,adoring ancestry and celestial being,phantom belief,BiMo culture,SuNi culture,etc.Zhi-ge A-lu culture is a very important part in Yi's BiMo culture.There are some stories that Zhi-ge A-lu dealt with ghosts and phantoms in BiMo's sacred books.Yi's BiMos suppress and expel ghosts by the strength of Zhi-ge A-lu in order to protect human beings.
