摘要
人们在进行言语交际时,话语的字面意义与说话者的实际用意可以一致,也可以不一致,不一致时则产生了会话含义。本文依据Grice等人的会话含义理论并结合教师言语的实例,分析了该理论在课堂中的运用,指出那些违反"合作原则"但不违背"礼貌原则"的会话含蓄,其实是一种十分有效的语用策略。
When people communicate with one another,the literal meaning of their discourse may or may not coincide with its real meaning.When the latter happens,conversa- tional implicature will come into being.The paper analyzes the application of Grice's conversational implicature theory to classroom teaching by means of illustrating teach- ers′choices of words,from which a conclusion is drawn in the end that the implicit but tactful wording,which doesnot violate the principle of politeness,is actually efficacious pragmatic strategies instead of its violation of CP.
