摘要
奈达提出的"功能对等"翻译观认为,译文对译文读者产生的效果与原文对原文读者产生的效果应"对等"。陈道明认为,"对等"是一种过于理想化的上限标准,当译者找不到"对等"的译法时,应当寻求"功能相似"的下限标准。本文旨在以这两个概念为基础探讨我国职称职务的"副"职的英译问题。
Nida believes that the readers of a translated text should be able to understand and appreciate it in essentially the same manner as the original readers did.Chen argues that'functional equivalence'is an idealistic standard,and that when a translator finds it hard to reach the'equivalence',he has to seek'functional similarity'as the realistic standard.In light of these,this paper aims to discuss the English translation of Chinese professional titles in auxiliary positions.
