In recent years,Fauconnier and Turner established the conceptual blending theory, based on the mental space theory. There are three blending processes operated in the blended space, namely composition, completion and elaboration, which are the center of the blending theory and the structure used to form new concepts. The Chinese word'xiake',originally a common word in education field, has become a neologism widely used in many other fields. The conceptual blending theory can be used to explore the formation and transformation from the old word to the neologism.
