委婉语是人类语言使用过程中的一种普遍现象。现在越来越多的广告创作者青睐于在广告中有效运地用委婉语。本文分析了如何运用英语委婉语的各种表现手法,使英语广告新颖别致、形象生动、引人入胜,以达到增强广告的效果,唤起人们的审美情趣。
Euphemism is a universal phenomenon in the process of the use of human language. Now the effective use of euphemistic techniques of expression is being favored by more and more advertising creators.This paper analyzes how to use various euphe- mistic language to creat unique,vivid,lifelike and attractive advertisements in English in order to enhance the effectiveness of advertising,and to arouse people's aesthetic taste as well.
