The 5th China International Diecasting Congress & Exhibition organized by the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES) was successfully held in Shanghai, China on June 28 to July 1, 2006. The opening ceremony was held in INTEX Shanghai in the morning of June 28. On behalf of the sponsors and the organizer Mr. LI Xin-ya, Vice chairman of China Machinery Industry Federation, Director of FICMES and President of China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology (CAMST), delivered his opening speech. In the speech Mr. LI Xin-ya gave his warm welcome to the honored guests at home and abroad who participated in this activity, and gave his sincere gratitude to the companies and professionals who passionately helped and supported the activity. He made a brief introduction to the current situation of the China diecasting industry and outlooked the bright prospect of the diecasting industry in China.
