摘要
The traditional method of assessing students' writing puts too much emphasis on the grammatical errors, which often frustrates and bores student writers. In view of this situation, this paper, employing systemic functional approach, puts forward a new perspective on assessing writing — a textual metafunction perspective, by analyzing the Thematic structure both above and at the clausal level and uncovering the strengths and weaknesses of the student's writing, and giving it a full functional analysis from the three metafuncitons. In the end, the paper points out the pedagogical implications of this method in English writing assessing and teaching.
针对传统学生作文评改中过分强调语法的现状,本文运用系统功能语法理论,从语篇元功能的角度,以一篇学生英语习作为例,对系统功能理论在评改学生作文中的应用作了较详尽的阐述。文章首先从句子以上层面,包括段落和句群等,分析了习作的宏观主位和宏观述位;再从句子层面分析了习作的语义转换和语义推进,从而使我们对习作的优点和缺点一目了然。文章最后阐述了这种分析法在作文评改和教学中的积极意义。
