In this paper,the author points out that the important idea of “Three Representative” is the guideline of ideological and political education in higher learning institutions and that the ideological and political education in higher learning institutions should keep pace with the era in accordance with the important idea of “Three Representative”.That is,to reflect the characteristics of the era,follow the rule of the era and to be creative.
