This paper discussed Xin Qiji's personality changes through analysis of his Ci of dreams and concluded that his mental state underwent a solitary, sorrowful, and wild state before reaching tranquility and transcendency and his expectations of self-worth changed from outward heroic deeds to inner rebuilding of character.
