Xiaoguan, a renowned mountain pass in the Chinese history is situated near Wating Town, Guyuan County, Niangxia Hui Autonomous Region. It was originally built in the Eastern Han Dynasty and had since been in use through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming till Qing dynasty, spanning over 2000 years. Today, the pass tower had long been destroyed by the flames of wars. People can only get to know what happened around Xiaoguan in those years from the verses left by men of literature and writing.
