剑川历史悠久,文化灿烂,民风淳朴,是历史上被清王朝封赠的云南四个“文献名邦”县之一,素有“白族之乡”、“三江胜地”、“木雕之乡”的美誉,是集名山、名水、名镇、名雕、名曲、名人为一体的人间乐土。
Jianchuan County, Yunnan Province, situated at the Juncture of Shangri-La. Li Jiang, Nujiang and Dali prefectures was a town of strategic importance on the ancient Tea-Horse Trading Road from Yunnan to Tibet. Sandwiched between Lijiang and Dali, it was the communication huh to Shangri-La.Jianchuan boasts a long history and simple, homespun customs. It has long enjoyed the fame of being 'Bais-Inhabited Area'. 'Wood Carving Home' and 'Three-River Famous Scenic Spot'. To sum up, Jianchuan is a happy land well for its mountains and waters, ancient architectural style, wood carvings and celebrated figures.
