They are rat,ox,tiger,rabbit,dragon,snake,horse,sheep,monkey,rooster,dog and pig.A Chinese legend says thatthese twelve animals have a race.The year will be named in theorder in which the animals arrive.The rat jumps onto the ox’sback,so it arrives first.Chinese believe that a person born inyear of an animal has the characterof that animal.
