摘要
It is agreed that the purpose of English teaching is to help students develop communicative competence, which includes both linguistic competence and cultural awareness. Well- designed and fully-conducted role-plays are an efficient way to provide students with opportunity to experience authentic situations, and raise their awareness of the subtlety of communicative routines in the target culture.
我国英语教学界已意识到英语教学的目的是为了培养学生用英语交际的能力,这不仅指语言能力,更重要的是对英语文化中的交际规则的识别和运用能力。而设计科学、步骤合理的角色扮演活动可以为学生提供模拟情景,运用语言知识来体验交际中微妙的文化差异,促使他们注意英语文化中的交际规则。而这些知识仅通过教师课堂讲解是难以传授的。
