摘要
大学英语四级考试这几年引起的争议很大,特别是有关它的构想效度。Ellis的Variable Competence Model在解释第二语言习得方面是做得较好的理论。它吸取了多名语言学家的研究成果,并且处在不断的发展过程中。本文就是以该理论作为依据,察看大学英语四级考试实际所测试的内容及忽略的一些方面,对该考试的构想效度进行评估。评估的目的是找出问题,以期改进它的设计。
CET Band IV has aroused argument among students and English teachers, esp. about its construct validity. Ellis's Variable Competence Model is relatively sound in explaining second language acquisition. More importantly, it is the research achievements of many linguists and has never stopped its development and the absorption of the latest findings in this field. In this paper, the construct validity of CET Band IV is examined from this perspective. The purpose of doing this is to try to expose problems of the Test, hence improve its design.
