摘要
Based on an analysis of the reading comprehension questions in College English Intensive Reading Book IV in terms of Christine Nuttall's categorization of question types in teaching reading skills, the author concludes that the imbalance of the distribution of reading comprehension question in College English Intensive Reading Book IV is not consistent with the requirements of College English Syllabus as well as the nature and purpose of intensive reading. In the short run, this imbalance will affect the learners' competence in reading; in the long run, it will affect their proficiency in speaking and writing as well. The author points out that both revision of the textbook and immediate means of remedy are necessary.
本文以克里斯蒂·纳特尔对阅读理解问题的分类为依据,对《大学英语(精读)》第四册阅读理解问题进行了统计和分析,指出《大学英语(精读)》的阅读理解问题分布极不平衡。这一不平衡现象不仅与《大学英语教学大纲》以及精读课的目的和要求不符,而且还会造成学生阅读、写作和口语能力过差。作者建议对《大学英语(精读)》进行进一步的修订,同时也建议教师采取必要的课堂补救措施。
