摘要
本文以问卷的形式对华南农业大学的77名大一新生进行了调查,旨在描述以汉语为母语的英语学习者的学习理念和采取的学习策略,并进一步探索学习理念、策略运用以及语言习得水平之间可能存在的关系。研究表明:1)中国学生有强烈的英语学习动机,但是对于自身学习英语的能力缺乏自信;2)其学习策略的运用收到文化及教育背景的影响;3)在确认的五类学习观念中,自我效能与各类学习策略均密切相关。文末给出了本项研究对于教学的启示。
This article presents a study on the beliefs about language learning and strategy use of 77 Chinese university learners of English. The primary aims of the study are to describe the beliefs about language learning and strategy use of Chinese learners of English, and to investigate the relationship among EFL learners' beliefs, learning strategy use and language proficiency. Results indicate that Chinese learners are highly motivated to learn English but not confident in their abilities in foreign language study, it is also found that learners' strategy use is influenced at least partially by cultural and educational backgrounds. Among the five categories of beliefs, self-efficacy is found to be strongly related to a wide range of strategy use. Pedagogical implications are suggested at the end of this article.
