Japan became the most important ally in Asia-Pacific area since WWII. The Nixon Administration adjusted the US policy toward Japan in order to keep American power and role in Asia-Pacific area. The Nixon Administration's policy placed the keynote for the development of US-Japan relations during the 1970s.
