The method and skills of the implementation of the FIR or IIR digital filter with different network structure are introduced .Some example programs on a fixed point DSP (Digital Signal Processing),Motorola DSP563xx,are given.Scaling,the key in programming fixed point DSP is analyzed in detail.As an example,the systematic procedure for scaling a second order IIR filter is presented,which is used as the basic building block of a higher order filter.
