Improving the Quality of English Intensive Reading for Students of Agricultural Colleges

摘要 The traditional English teaching for non—English majors,especially in Intensive Read-ing class,is teacher—centered.As a result,the students have to learn English passively and mostof them are less interested in it.Therefore,it has become necessary to change the traditionalmethod and improve the quality of teaching.In this article some ways are introduced and dis-cussed,which include:making the students clear about the purpose of learning and teaching,de-signing teaching content elaborately,arranging teaching activities carefully,encouraging the stu-dents to be the main role of learning and teaching,teaching the students ways of learning,etc. The traditional English teaching for non—English majors,especially in Intensive Read- ing class,is teacher—centered.As a result,the students have to learn English passively and most of them are less interested in it.Therefore,it has become necessary to change the traditional method and improve the quality of teaching.In this article some ways are introduced and dis- cussed,which include:making the students clear about the purpose of learning and teaching,de- signing teaching content elaborately,arranging teaching activities carefully,encouraging the stu- dents to be the main role of learning and teaching,teaching the students ways of learning,etc.
